Story
Michael Oloyede, a Nigerian-American actor, producer, and creator, and recently made his Broadway debut and originated four roles in the 5-time Tony Award nominated Play, Jaja's African Hair Braiding. Born in London, England, Oloyede immigrated to the United States at the age of four. While initially pursuing a bachelor's degree in marketing and working in the corporate world, his passion for acting led him to enroll at the Stella Adler School of Acting, where he honed his craft and launched his acting career.
Throughout his career, Oloyede has showcased his talent and versatility across film, television, and stage productions, while also making significant contributions behind the camera as a producer and creator.
Michael is the founder of Scene & Heard, a community created for artists that has already garnered partnerships with Wicked Movie, The Line LA & Soho House. He played a key role in establishing organizations like The Creative Collective NYC and CultureCon, providing platforms for emerging talent and creatives of color to network and collaborate. As a co-founder of The Lay Out, he continues to create spaces for Black individuals to celebrate culture and reclaim their narratives, underscoring his commitment to both artistic excellence and community empowerment within and beyond the entertainment industry.
